The 4th of July weekend was a lot fun. I was able to finish my homework early so I had lots of time to play Saturday and Sunday. We had family from Washington State come down for the holiday and a wedding and birthday party next weekend.

Oquirrh Temple Tour
A couple of weeks ago we went to the open house of the Oquirrh Temple in Daybreak. And wow! What a difference from the Temple tour in Draper! We could drive straight to the temple, it was very organized and not very full, therefore quiet and spiritual. Kudos to the organizing committee for a well planned event!!!We got there at 2p.m., watched a little introduction video, toured the temple and we were done at 3:30p.m. After the temple tour, we had some yummy cookies at the reception center and We also got a short ride to our car on a golf cart. Flying hairs, wide smiles, and a light summer breeze on our faces. We couldn't ask for more.
Then we went back to our house, grabbed blankets, lawn chairs and sat in the front yard and enjoyed ourselves. We talked, I planted my little columbine plants, and later in the evening after most people left, we drove to Herriman to see fireworks. And that's why Summer is a lot of fun!

It is grilling season!
Last weekend we grilled pork on our bbq and baked some red potatoes edges. It was so yummy! I love grilling outside, the smell of the meat cooking. I am so glad Summer is coming!
Update: I seasoned the potatoes with ground thyme, rosemary, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, olive oil, salt and pepper. I put about 1 tsp of each herb in the grinder then I mixed the powder ingredients and added about 3 tbsp of olive oil. You put that mixture in a bowl, then add 4-5 medium red potatoes cut into edges and mix them until all the potatoes are coated with that oil and spices. Then bake at 450 degrees for 30 minutes.

Little ducks
This time of the year is awesome for wildlife displays. Yesterday I saw some Canadian Geese and their teenage ducks at the college.
And today I saw mamma duck and 7 little baby ducks on the freeway. They were on the inside shoulder and I felt really bad for them because they probably won't last very long.
